A man using ChatGPT on a laptop
Johnny Lloyd26/10/2023 57:03 PM1 min read

Have you heard of Google’s long-awaited answer to Chat-GPT, Google Gemini?

You’ve probably read scores of posts related to ChatGPT, and how Open-AI’s advanced artificial intelligence could revolutionise the way you work. It’s safe to say that it’s been a revelation for many. However, the boffins at DeepMind, Google’s AI-centric organisation, haven’t just been sitting back and twiddling their thumbs – they’ve been working flat out to deliver something bigger and better.

Introducing Google Gemini – an AI platform that’s expected to be better equipped to plan and solve issues than ChatGPT. Google's Gemini is set to be a multimodal AI, meaning it can process more than one type of data. Gemini will be better equipped to plan and solve issues than ChatGPT, which is trained on a dataset of text and code, and is only capable of responding to text inputs from people. However, Gemini will interact with computers and the internet autonomously. The tech giant is also upping the tech's code-generating abilities to try and take on Microsoft's GitHub Copilot, which is powered by OpenAI.

As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. And that’s exactly what you’ll have to do with Google Gemini! There’s no official release date yet, but many experts predict we could see a version drop before the end of this year. Wouldn’t that be a lovely Christmas present for us all! Stay tuned for updates.
